January 2025: Seaside Sanctuary

This month’s theme, Seaside Sanctuary, was inspired by the California coast—a place that holds some of my most cherished memories. My husband and I spent countless days winding along Highway 1, where rugged cliffs gave way to a vast, bright-blue ocean. The waves, both magnificent and untamed, crashed below us with a rhythm that was equal parts peaceful and powerful.

We would often stop at the beaches along Half Moon Bay—picnicking, chatting, or simply letting the cool ocean breeze kiss our faces as our toes sank into the sand. There was a stillness to those moments, a serenity that made the world feel quiet, yet also a humbling reminder of how small we are beside the immensity of the sea.

Adventure always lingered in the air. We’d watch sailors wrestle with the waves, fishermen holding steady against the currents, and wildlife that seemed almost magical. Seals would lounge on the rocks, tide pools revealed starfish and sea urchins, and every so often, a whale would breach the surface, as if to remind us of the mysteries beneath the water.

These memories are etched into my soul like a painting—vivid, joyful, and timeless. Lately, as I’ve been thrifting, I’ve stumbled upon treasures that stir these memories within me.
